Packaging Design People Remember to Hold
Why the box matters after checkout. I write about paper, finish and the small details people remember.
Most buying happens in a tap. The box is the part people keep in their hands.
What changes off screen
On packs like the jars for Glow Nest and the pouches for The Daily Grind, I plan for light in a shop and weight in a hand. Type has to work in three dimensions.
Paper choice shapes the read as much as type:
- Soft matte: Quiet and calm. Suits simple skincare.
- Plain kraft: Open and honest. Suits small roasters.
- Small foil or emboss: I use it sparingly to point fingers to one mark during unboxing.
When someone holds your pack, they hold what you promised. I treat that moment with care.
